The Brief
Project Overview
01
The Challenge
OneNS serves as the central digital platform for National Servicemen, supporting a wide range of services throughout their National Service journey. As the platform evolved, there was an opportunity to modernise the user experience, improve usability and create a more cohesive digital ecosystem across its many touchpoints.
02
My Role
As part of the UX/UI team, I contributed to the redesign of the OneNS platform while taking ownership of the Pre-Enlistee Journey. I collaborated closely with product owners, business analysts, developers and fellow designers to simplify complex workflows and design a more intuitive onboarding experience for first-time enlistees.
03
The Solution
My objective was to redesign the Pre-Enlistee Journey, helping first-time National Servicemen navigate registration, medical screening and enlistment with greater clarity and confidence.

01
Research & Discovery
Participated in user research and moderated usability testing to better understand user behaviours, identify pain points and validate design decisions. I also contributed to the OneNS design library by creating and refining UI components, supporting the team's efforts to maintain consistency across the platform.
03
Appointment Management
Created a streamlined appointment experience that helps users view, manage and prepare for medical screenings and enlistment-related activities. Important details are presented clearly to reduce uncertainty and ensure users have the information they need before each appointment.

2 — Actionable Task Cards
Prioritises pending actions with clear due dates and calls-to-action, reducing uncertainty and encouraging timely completion.
3 — Quick Actions
Provides one-click access to frequently used services, allowing users to complete common tasks without navigating multiple pages.
1 — Guided Progress Timeline
Visualises the end-to-end pre-enlistment journey, helping users understand their current stage and what comes next.

02
Personalised Dashboard
Designed a central dashboard that gives pre-enlistees a clear overview of their enlistment journey. Upcoming appointments, important tasks and key updates are surfaced in one place, allowing users to quickly understand what requires their attention and stay on track throughout the onboarding process.
04
Supporting Pre-Enlistment Services
Beyond the core dashboard and medical screening experience, the platform supports a range of self-service workflows that guide users through different stages of their pre-enlistment journey. Each service is designed to simplify administrative tasks while providing clear guidance and next steps.
